Teaching Tuesday
At Buffalo Point, we know that the best teachers never stop learning. Recently, some of our amazing Stampede teachers (and even one of our former teammates!) came together for professional development—growing their skills, sharing ideas, and strengthening their craft.
Because when teachers are learners, students win. #TeachingTuesday #BuildingTogether #LifelongLearners #StampedeStrong

Mascot Monday
Looks like Chip found a new favorite toy... our school backpack vacuum!
This Friday is Custodian Appreciation Day, and Chip wants to give a big shout-out to our amazing custodial team. They keep Buffalo Point shining every single day, and we couldn’t do it without them!
Let’s show them some love this week by giving a smile, a thank-you, or even a high five when you see them around campus.

Thank You Thursday
Today we’re giving a big shout-out to Rob, our amazing bus driver!
Every morning, Rob does more than just get students safely to school—he takes the time to greet them with kindness, encouragement, and a genuine interest in their day.
Thank you, Rob, for starting our students’ mornings with positivity and care. You make a difference before the first bell even rings!

Words from the Herd Wednesday
A student came to the office this week with her glasses in serious trouble—the earpiece was completely flat.
Our office assistant asked, “Do you want to call your mom?”
She shot back instantly:
“No way!”
Gotta admire that mix of confidence, independence… and maybe just a little hope Mom never finds out!

Teaching Tuesday
In art class, our students were inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds—a story about creativity, courage, and making your mark.
Each student created their own unique artistic dot, and together their work has become a wave of color now displayed outside the art room.
This project is a reminder that when we each add our own creativity, we build something even more beautiful together!

Thank You Thursday
We are so grateful to the Syracuse West Stake for turning September 13 into a true day of service at Buffalo Point! Volunteers assembled snack kits and potty kits, painted racks, helped in the library, built shelves, and spread kindness that will ripple far beyond our school.
Because of their generosity, we were even able to share supplies with Island View and Holt Elementary. Thank you for strengthening our community through service!

Words from the Herd Wednesday ✨
During Constitution Month, we’re reminded that good citizenship isn’t just about laws—it’s about looking out for one another.
One teacher shared how, while working individually with students, a 'good citizen student' noticed classmates needing help. She quickly stepped in with, “What do you need?” or “I can help you.” Because of her willingness to serve, the class now recognizes her as the expert, and the teacher was able to keep working without interruption.
That’s citizenship in action: using our initiative to support others and strengthen the whole community.

Teaching Tuesday
This famous painting shows the Constitutional Convention of 1787, where leaders from across the young nation gathered to create the United States Constitution.
At Buffalo Point, even our 1st graders begin learning about these important ideas—freedom, fairness, and working together. It’s never too early to introduce the principles that make our country strong.

On this Constitution Month and on September 11, we pause with gratitude. We honor the sacrifices of first responders and appreciate their ongoing willingness to take care of all of us. Thank you to the families, staff, and community members who teach and live the values of liberty, justice, and unity every day. Your example helps our students see what it means to build a stronger nation—together.

Words from the Herd Wednesday 🦬💬
This week’s words remind us how kindness, family, and citizenship all build our Stampede spirit:
1. A sweet kindergartener showed her heart, saying, “He’s bald, but I’m not going to tell him that.”
2. A second grader couldn’t wait for Grand Day: “Oh yeah, my grandpa’s coming and he’s bringing me a chicken leg.”
3. And from a book we’ve been reading together: “The example of our initiative may help others more clearly see, the kind of person and even hero, that we can choose to be!”
Kindness, connection, and courage—together they make us better. #WordsFromTheHerd #BuildingTogether #StampedeStrong

Our sixth graders traveled back in time with a cave painting activity! Using symbols and images, they explored how early humans shared stories and recorded history long before written words. #TeachingTuesday #BuildingTogether #StampedeStrong

Teaching Tuesday
Did you know the USS Constitution, also called Old Ironsides, is the world’s oldest commissioned warship still afloat? Launched in 1797, it earned its famous nickname during the War of 1812 when enemy cannonballs seemed to bounce off its strong oak hull.
Our 2nd graders learn about this legendary ship as part of their literacy curriculum—just one way we’re “Building Together” through stories of courage, history, and the Constitution.
