Fun Friday at Buffalo Point!
It’s the 67th day of school, and the 6–7 trend lives on. Today’s pic says it all: “I survived 67 days of school!”

We’ve made it through 6… we’ve made it through 7… and all the way to 67. We’re making every day count.

Words from the Herd Wednesday!

Today’s moment comes from a student celebrating en grande with a sombrero and a class-wide serenade of “¡Feliz cumpleaños!”

We love seeing our students celebrate each other and bring joy into the classroom.

Kids are endlessly curious—today one student’s search history proudly asked, “How to convince my parents to buy me slime.”

We see you, future negotiator.

Teaching Tuesday
Our students are moving their writing forward—literally! These lessons use whole-body actions from SRSD to help students plan, organize, and strengthen their writing. It’s active, it’s engaging, and best of all… it’s working.

Fun Friday! Today was Colonial Day in 5th grade, and our students went all-in on the experience! From dressing in period clothing to making candles and trying hands-on activities from the “olden days,” they got a small taste of what life was like long ago. We love seeing learning come alive—great job, 5th grade!

Thank You Thursday Even though Veterans Day was earlier this week, we want to extend our gratitude once again to all our veterans—especially those who joined us for our assembly. We’re thankful for your service, your sacrifice, and the commitment shown by both you and your families. We appreciate you.

Words from the Herd Wednesday We love the way students describe things. A student was outside and took a whiff, then said: “What’s that smell? It smells like Idaho.” Kids keep us laughing, guessing… and apparently sniff-testing the states. #Wordsfromtheherd #BuffaloPoint

Teaching Tuesday Learning takes many forms—sometimes it’s math or reading, and sometimes it’s understanding why we stand in silence. Today, students learned about “Taps” and reflect on the service of our nation’s veterans. Thank you vets and military heroes! #TeachingTuesday #VeteransDay #BPE #BuffaloPointElementary

For our thank you, Thursday, we want to give a thank you and an invite to veterans and active military members. On Tuesday, we will hold a Veterans Day recognition assembly. We invite the parents and grandparents of our students who served or currently serve to join us. The assembly will start at about 3:00 PM.

Words from the Herd Wednesday
Sometimes honesty is the first step toward growth.

When asked what he could do differently after talking out and interrupting learning, a student thought for a moment and said, “I guess I could stop talking.”
The follow-up question came: “Yes, you could—so next time, will you?”
After another pause, he answered, “...Probably not.”

We’re hopeful he proves himself wrong—but we appreciated his self-awareness and honesty! Growth starts with knowing where you are.

Teaching Tuesday After learning about Ancient Mesopotamia, our Buffalo Point students tried their hand at history—carving their own names into clay tablets using the world’s first written language, Cuneiform! Such a fun and hands-on way to connect with ancient civilizations. #TeachingTuesday #BuffaloPointElementary
