Buffalo Point Elementary will be administering our mid-year Acadience Reading benchmark during the week of January 12–16. This assessment is an important checkpoint that helps teachers understand student progress in foundational reading skills and plan instruction for the second half of the school year.
Acadience measures key literacy skills such as phonemic awareness, decoding, reading fluency, and comprehension. The information gathered allows teachers to celebrate growth, identify areas of strength, and determine where additional support or enrichment may be beneficial.
Families can help students prepare by:
Encouraging consistent attendance during testing week
Ensuring students get a good night’s sleep
Promoting daily reading at home
Offering reassurance—Acadience is a short, one-on-one assessment designed to show growth, not create stress
Results will be shared with families following the benchmark window, and teachers will use the data to guide instruction, small groups, and interventions moving forward.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting literacy at Buffalo Point Elementary. Together, we are building strong readers and confident learners.
If you have questions about Acadience or your child’s participation, please contact your child’s teacher.
